Excellent opportunity for the right individual to join this new, exciting and innovative fleet of cruise ships. NCL America currently operates three cruise ships on a 7 day, 5 port, 4 island itinerary through the Hawaiian islands. The number of crewmembers on each ship ranges from around 830 to around 1,050.
The Shipboard Human Resources Manager provides Human Resources for all onboard crew, including core functions such as employee relations for employees who live as well as work onboard; labor relations; investigations; coordination of benefits delivery; oversight of crew services such as assignment and control of crew cabins, crew activities, monitoring of crew areas; administration of maritime requirement in signing crew on and off; and regulatory compliance. The individual works closely with shipboard officers and managers in coaching and advising on employee issues and supervises a staff of three.

Shipboard employees in this position typically work a 7 day work week onboard for 12 weeks followed by 6 weeks paid vacation. Travel to and from residence airport on any island or the US mainland is provided by the Company. Uniforms are provided. Cabin entitlement is officer status: single cabin with own bath.

Must be capable of passing US Coast Guard requirements to obtain Merchant Mariner Document including physical fitness and medical standards, National Driver Registry and FBI background checks; and successfully completing US Coast Guard required training in water survival, firefighting, lifeboat operations, personal safety, first aid, and CPR.
Job requirements include HR Generalist background with strong knowledge of employee relations and conflict resolution. Proficiency in MS Office software programs, strong communications, analytical and training skills. Knowledge of applicable Federal and Hawaii laws. Experience in supervising others. College degree or length of strong relevant experience required. Experience in working with union employees preferred (but not required).
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field or experience.
- Three to five years of human resources experience.
- General knowledge of human resources management. Excellent communications, leadership and management skills. Must have exceptional attitude and experience in an international environment.
